The two organisations were the only representatives from North East England, hope to build on the success of north east tourism in 2014, when Visit Britain reported that the region had the strongest visitor figures since the onset of the 2008 recession.
Excursions is a must attend event to discover the latest UK group products. Aiming to attract and encourage more group visits to the region Northern Secrets spoke with more than 100 group organisers, many of whom had not been to this region before.
Alex Jacobs is the founder and managing director of Northern Secrets Ltd. He is extremely passionate about North East England also a Blue Badge tourist guide.
“Thousands of people holiday every year as part of a group and we want to make sure that people are considering North East England as a destination for their group’s trips in 2015 and beyond. This region has so much on offer and the show was a great opportunity to highlight the great itineraries that we can offer this important tourism market. Within the group travel market there is still a strong demand for suppliers and buyers to meet face-to-face to do business and it is important that the north east is on show at these events.”
